Which Stain Is Best?

As a painting contractor who has applied a variety of stains, following is my personal opinion about deck stains:

We have had good results using Sherwin Williams DeckScapes (semi-transparent)and Benjamin Moore (semi-transparent). We've recently begun recommending Sikkens stains -- we've been pleased with Sikkens products. Sherwin Williams DeckScapes application is relatively easy (brush the cracks between boards, then roll the floor), Sikkens may require a bit more work (we brush everything--no rolling when we use Sikkens).

I no longer use Cabot tinted stains.
In one particular application, we applied a white-tinted semi-transparent stain and the pigmentation virtually disappeared on horizontal surfaces exposed to the sun after only about six to eight months.

If you have personal experience with a deck stain and recommend it,
please contact me to let me know about your experience and recommendation.

Speaking of Sikkens' products:
Varnishing a front door / Refinishing a varnished front door:
Use Sikkens Door and Window Sealer--used as an exterior "varnish" offers superb performance, in my opinion.
